HIE and underwater

Does anyone have any experience with underwater photography and HIE. I am
planning a snorkeling trip and want to try something new. I am also
considering taking a flash with an opaque 87 filter so as not to scare the
fish. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and any advice will be
appreciated.
