Re: could it be bubbles?



On this topic of possible bubbles ... I have seen a similar effect but the
little circles were cyan (or red) on prints made from color negatives. (my
memory is failing ... guess I could try to find negs but probably not).

anyway, the answer I got from Kodak Research Labs when I brought this to their
attention maybe 20 years ago was that this was probably outdated (it was but
not by much) film and that gas bubbles had somehow been released from the
emulsion and these interfered with the development of one of the layers.

Anyway, the little "bubbles" were uniformly (more or less) distributed
throughout the length of the film that was processed in a roller transport
processor. This problem affected several rolls of film (all same batch) but not
all rolls developed in that particular run (other films were of different
batch). I did not bother to test the remaining film of the affected batch to
see if I could replicate the defect. Sorry.

I don't know what this all means in your case but I am posting it simply as a
backgrounder on what a possible explanation might be.
