Kodak's published spectrogram for the old IR sheet and 35mm films
shows response from about 370 to 510 nm (UV to blue-green), peaking at
about 460 (blue), and from about 670 to 870 nm (red to IR), peaking
around 820 nm in the IR. Since no vertical calibration (sensitivity)
is given, it's hard to tell how insensitive the film is where no
sensitivity is shown. Kodak did claim that this material could be
used under a Wratten Series 7 (green) safelight, but after working
with HIE I would be nervous about that unless I had a bona fide
Wratten 7 safelight. BTW, the latest copyright date on my reference
is 1955, and it lists but gives no spectrogram for HIE, which it says
must be handled in total darkness.
