Okay-- I found in KODAK M-28 references to
Cott (1956), Gibson (1956), and Colwell (1966)***

I seem to recall that someone posted an abstract or summary
of one of these to this group -- if so could whoever did the
posting either post it again or e-mail it to me directly?

The M-28 paragraphs goes like this:
Colwell, et al (1966), devoted a large amount of space to the
infrared photography of livestock. By means of the technique,
they were even able to sex the catle and differentiate between
Herefores and Hereford-Angus crosses. The counting of pigs, goats,
sheep, cattle, and horses can be greatly facilitated by the modified
black-and-white infrared technique.

Does anyone know of more recent studies along these lines??
