There has got to more to this than this paragraph indicates!  I guess I
don't see how sexing identifying and counting livestock can be greatly
facilitated by the use of IR photography?  The usual approach is to take a
good look, and to count (1 bull, 1 cow, 2 bulls, 2 cows, ... ).  Of
course you could take IR pictures of each criter and then review the
prints later, I suppose.  Nevertheless it kind of sounds like someone had
a camera, some IR film, and just wanted to use it.  In what way can these
things be "greatly facilitated by the modified black-and-white infrared
technique"?
