I have some 4x5 and 8x10 holders made by the same company within a couple
of years of each other out of apparently the same materials.  The 8x10 holders
have several more dots on the slides than the 4x5 holders.  I don't think 
they mean anything anymore except which side of the slide has the white strip
(so you can find it in the dark).  In any event, all the holders I tried (the
oldest was made about 1980) seem to be IR safe.
