Language is an imprecise tool. IMO correct exposure shouldn't be called
underexposure. Not getting enough light on the neg to be able to make the
print you want is underexposure.

It also matters whether you like IR pictures with a full range of tones or
one with strong halos and more contrast or somewhere in between.
