darkroom ventillation help needed

have finally gotten back to darkroom, have lots of infrared to print , and am
finding my asthma its getting worse --faster now in darkroom. I have an
exhaust fan to outside
and hepa portable air cleaner --seems not to be efficient . anyone have
anything else they recommend, via air filters  or even masks??? I also am
looking for sprint stop bath--better smell, anyone know of better fixer/less
pungent?
