Hi Ben,
I am not sure just how much of IR you will get from the Pool Balls. But I
do know that it is not hard to get the streaks with slide film. I have done
several shots that way. Here is what I did. I set up a shot and then set the
light for 1/8 of a second. I then set my flash on my camera for Rear Sync.
That way you get the blur of the balls moving and then the flash stops them
at the end. You want to open the shutter at the same time as you make the
shot. I just held my remote for my camera in my right hand and hit the button
at the same time as I made the shot. It worked real well. You might want to
also try a few at 1/4 in 1/2 depending on how hard you are shooting. Just
make sure you change your lighting accordingly.
I have a Nikon 8008s and Nikon SB-24 strob. The strob puts out a lot of IR
light. I was trying it with some IR film and it was just like I was using
black/white film with a strob. Loved the tones I got. If you ever used TecPan
B/W film you will know how it looked. Let me know how it comes out. :-) Shack
