Ektachrome IR 200ASA/+2push vs 50ASA/no push

Hi,
I was discussing the upcoming Ektachrome E-6 compatibility with a
friend, and we got stuck in the discussion of why anyone would want
to recommend a 200 ASA exposure with a +2 push development, instead
of a 50 ASA exposure with no push. What possible motivation could one
have to do so?
My only encounter with push was with Fujichrome 800, shooting at
3200, and that doesn't really help much....
Any light on this subject, or am I pushing it?....;-))
