Robert -

Again, I really wouldn't think of TechPan in terms of near-infrared. 
Perhaps someone can come up with some charts, but if I remember
correctly, the film has increased, not extended, red sensitivity.

As far as tonal gradation is concerned, I feel that it is very important
to use Technidol, the developer specifically designed for it.  By
definition, slow films are contrasty, and TechPan takes the cake on this
matter, which is why the developer is so important.  Some of the
sharpest images I've ever seen were taken by my friend Bob Clemens, a
Kodak staff photographer, with this film.
