Sure, I have stated in the past that IR and UV photography, although
on the other end of the visible spectrum, have as much similarities
as differences. So they are welcome on this list. Once UV-discussions
outnumber that of IR, we could always launch a separate UV list, but
that is unlikely to happen in the near future IMHO.
You state on your homepage that you use the 105mm
UV-Nikkor....did you ever try more 'lowly' lenses before you bought
the UV-Nikkor, ie was it really neccessary for near-UV photography?
What was/is its sticker price btw?....;-))
I have seen the Hassy Super Achromat more than once for sale as used,
but never the UV-Nikkor. Any idea since when this lens has been around?
(think it is listed in a 1979 German book on IR/UV photography)
How thick are your Nikon UV-shortpass filters btw?
For IR-photography I am currently being spoiled by the convenience of
a thin #87C behind the shutter in my EOS-1, mounted between the
film rails (not to mention the ease with my Horizon 202 pan camera
(range finder)), and I was wondering how much visible-block a thin 18A
equivalent can be made....this #87C filter is 0.4mm, the film rails
are 0.5mm high (do other cameras offer taller film rails btw?....I
know some are lower).
