New Site and SFX Questions

As a new subscriber with new site, I would appreciate comments/crits on
the images in site listed below (B&W Infrared and Colour).
I am also looking for info on Ilford SFX (I have seen the article in
Photo Techniques..still avail in Canada). What rating, what filter, is
the old +1,-1 bracket REALLY necessary, and does XTOL work ok at what
times? If you send privately, I will compile summary for list.
As a comment, why do some lists include hugh images in their site (say,
bigger than 50K) at dimensions that prevent me from seeing the whole
image on my monitor even when everything in my browser has been
stripped?
