Wood and IR

I've been using wooden film holders for IR for years, and have not
noticed any fogging. I have a mixed bag, far from new. All my slides
have a row of raised dots, though I would have to check how many.
I have developed my own convention that prevents double exposures:
When I load the film, I insert the slide silver-side (with the dots)
out. When I make an exposure, I reverse the slide, thus indicating that
sheet is exposed. In the darkroom I can tell which sheets are exposed
by feeling the dots, and only develop those that have been exposed.
