faint shapes -Reply

As indicated in a message from me, a month or more ago, I too
experienced a faint center fourth of the total frame width. This malady
occurred in just a few frames in an otherwise "perfect" roll of HIE. I'm at
a loss as to the cause, and since it wasn't on the whole roll, I chalked it
up to "intermittent camera gremlin". Will see what the next roll shows
upon development. It was easy to print around, but the initial "un-dodged"
prints aren't pretty to look at.

I sometimes get a faint lighter area in the middle of the frame, about 20
percent of the distance across in size, that I'm guessing is the shape of
the aperture. I use a nikon fm. I wonder if its an optical failure or some
inner reflection?
