I had a similar effect on one roll, and members of this group
convinced me that the dense edges were due to excessive agitation.
That roll was agitated fairly vigorously 5 sec. out of ever 30. I now
use gentle agitation 5-10 sec. out of every 60, and the effect has not
reappeared.
