sorry, I've never been in a similar situation, but you might try laminating
the print.  I don't know if this will protect it from the malodourous
situation, but it might be worth a try.

I do know, however, in laminating hand coloured prints that have been
sprayed, it sometimes produces a mottled appearance, depending on how the
light strikes it.

Cold laminates seem to work better.  Or using as low a temperature on the
press as possible.

I would be most curious as to the results of this, and/or anyone else's
experiences.
