Re: pressure plate F801

Hi Peter and others,

Yes, the pressureplate of my Nikon F801 has indeed the dimples you spoke
of. Because of the very first problems with faint lines on my first HIE
, I switched back to my old Nikkormat EL (30 yrs.!) This camera is
really excellent! Its pressure plate is smooth with no dimples or
whatsoever. And I like the fixed focal lenses with it.

Most of the HIE I shot afterwards was done with the Nikkormat. Since I
discovered the matt area on the pressure plate of the F801 and removed
it, I shot two HIE with F801 with great success! I hope the problem is
over. Still I dont trust the dimples on the F801 although I cant see
anything wrong on my negatives.

I also discovered, that the presuure plate of the Nikkormat can be
mounted on the F801. Its just a matter of aligning four clips. I think
I will swap over the pressure plate one of these days just to be
absolutely sure!

Great stuff infrared, dont you think so?

Greetings
Jaap Los
