UV filter between film rails?
Dear all,
as already stated a few weeks ago I am collecting my first
experiences with UV photography now. For static subjects the normal
strategy seems to work quite well, i.e. UV-lens, SB-140 flash,
tripod, focussing first, then mounting the filter in front of the
lens, measuring, then taking the picture.
Quite a lot of my subjects (many insects) are very volatile, however,
and not as easily attractable as bees to a flower. For reasons I
don't want to discuss any further I would like to avoid killing or
freezing or whatever handling of these animals in order to keep them
still long enough.
The question is more or less twofold:
Can a UV transmittent filter be mounted between the film rails of the
camera, thus enabling focussing with mounted filter?
Is there a (more or less) constant ratio of UV versus measured (by
camera metering system) light, so that I could dial in a compensation
in order to obtain a (more or less) correct exposure?
As you can see by my questions, I am pretty much a beginner in this
field, so every advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
