pressure plate again

Subject:pressure plates (again)

Hi Tony and other friends ! 

Reading alle your responses on my pressure plate message , it crossed my
mind, that the teflon  tape cover suggested by Tony  will destroy the
reflective properties of the original  surface of the pressure plate. I
thought, that the special enhanced look in the highlights of HIE is
caused by light bounced back by the pressure plate. So if you cover the
plate with something  non reflective (such as teflon tape) you change
the special characteristics of HIE in an undesired manner. Am I right in
this??  Could there be an other solution for an IR unsuitable plate?
