Developing Konica IR-750

I just started experimenting with this film, actually only two rolls have
been developed in my Paterson tank. The first one was exposed at ASA 32,
with a R25 filter that moved the system sensibility at ASA 8, than developed
in Xtol 1+1 at 24=B0 during 8 min, agitating 30 seconds at the start, than 5
sec. every 30. Way too dense negs, even if you could print it on a very low
contrast paper; the highlights are not tapped out, they're only dense like a
silver coin!
So, my second roll was exposed with the same ASA settings, then developed in
Xtol 1+3, 24=B0, 14 min with half the agitation: 30 secs at the start, then=
5
sec every minute. An improvement, an I succeded in getting some good prints
with a lot of work(dodgeing and burning with different VC filters on the
same paper sheet). I would like to mantain the snappy separation in the
tones, but with less density in the highlights. Can someone share his
tecnique? What about dev. times with Rodinal, Tmax, HC110 or whatever works
with this film? And: is there someone out there working with Ornano dev.
products? (It's a small italian factory producing a wide range of b-w=
products).
TIA
Gae
