EIR Announcement

The following announcement appears in the current (July 1997) member's
newsletter of WPPI:

Kodak's Professional Division recently introduced the first
infrared-sensitive color reversal film compatible with E-6 processing
chemistry. Previous versions of infrared slide film had to be developed
using process E-4 or EA-5, available only through a limited number of
specialty labs. The new film features fine grain, medium sharpness and a
4-mil thick Estar base. It has normal sensitivity to both UV and visible
colors found between 380-700 nm, and sensitivity to infrared radiation found
between 700-900 nm. Film can be processed in either Process AR-5 or E-6,
depending on desired results. The film will be available in 135mm
36-exposure rolls by June.  Information: Eastman Kodak Co.; (800) 242-2424;
web site www.kodak.com/go/professional/

Both Joe Paduano and I had the following trouble with this film. Some
slides showed red specks in the shadow areas and areas of blue sky. The
specks are small, so you don't notice them just looking at slides spread out
on a light table; you need to use a loupe. Joe spoke with a Kodak Rep about
this, who said he would post something to our list.

Has anyone else had this happen?
