EIR has much better keeping abilities than its predecessor. It should
be okay at room temperature for about a month.

Has anyone successfully attached a transplanted DX code? (I would like a DX code on the canister since the camera will be in a radio-controlled airplane and I would like the camera to be able to use its automatic exposure features.)
There is no DX code. You may wish to preset the EI on the camera.
