Jeff;

In the dark2 photo, there are arcs of brightness at the top of the crack
lights.  If that's what you're referring to, I believe it's a fairly
common thing with HIE. Cause it's got no anti-halation backing,
halation can occur! And this looks like an exmaple of it. Light
bouncing in every direction off the pressure plate and exposing the film
from behind. Even film up by the sprocket holes. This is the process,
really, which creates much of HIEs' ethereal look.

Hmmmm. Looked at 'tracks' also and I find 'dark2' to be much more
interesting, moody, mysterious. Each to his/her own, eh?

By the way, what camera are you using to shoot HIE? My Olys have
dimpled pressure plates which cause problems, (due again to the lack of
anti-halation, the light can bounce off the dimples and expose the
dimple pattern thru the back of the film too) so I can't use 'em til I
get the custom plate I've ordered from Oly, NY.
