I found the web site of "Hewes" <http://www.hewes.co.uk/ >who make (IMHO)
the easiest-to-load, and best SS reels available on the market today. (I
have 4 of their 35 mm reels)
The 'lugs' to get 35 mm started on these reel are of the type that one used
to breaking thumbnails on the Omega type, piercing their thumbs with the
older style Kindermann, might be temped to say "Why was this design not
thought of before now?". The seem to be listing all sizes of reels as well
as the 70 mm on their site but I did not (from fear of falling backwards
off my chair) ask for a price. I did not look for tanks.
