Printing IR negs
Hi All,
I like to introduce myself again. I am using my brothers E-Mail account's so I am not the
person named as what your Inbox shows.
I had previously been on this conference in mid 1996 where I enjoyed it immensely for the 3 months
I was connecting. It is great to have some generous and knowledgable experts in this arena.
Anyway, I mainly shoot HIE through a #25 and develop in HC-110 (Dil B). I mainly expose between
EI160 and EI640 depending on the scene. The negs turn out rather nicely. Mainly, I send off the negs
to be done quickly at a lab for the postcard sized proofs and I choose the best of these to print in my darkroom.
As IR negs require alot of dodging and burning and with it a great long exposure time, does anyone use
really slow paper developers such as a Tetenal variety, to make decisions on whether to freeze development?
I find that I underdevelop and overdevelop my prints before getting the right paper development time.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Cheers!
Kevin
