I would suggest starting with a Yellow #9 or #12 filter with the EIR and
exposing the films at about ISO 50-200, then cross process in C-41.  I
haven't done that but it is typical to over expose E-6 film by 2 stops when
processing in C-41 chemistry.  You can also overexpose by one stop and push
process a stop.  
Also, very important is to keep notes as you shoot so you can get predictable
results after a couple of rolls.
