IR & Ilford Warm Tone

I've worked with the Ilford Warmtone and Konica IR negs extensively this
summer. It is a very superb paper, but still not quite the old Portriga.
To get a warmer color without toning, the paper should be washed up to an
hour. The longer you wash, the warmer it gets. That's because the optical
brighteners leach out. As far as slowest paper, have you tried Forte
Ploygrade Warmtone??! It's much slower than Ilford. Perhaps it's your
diffusion enlarger. I use a condenser with dichroic filtration. Ilford Warm
tone looks good with selenium or sepia toning. That's the only way it will
turn extremely brown as in the ads.
