You could try the Konica Infrared films to lower grain, or go to larger
formats so it doesn't matter as much.

Not sure what you are looking for here?  The film will simply behave as it
is designed. Color infrared is designed to give a red color when exposed
to red or infrared. B&W will respond similarly, but of course will look
white, so yes the bright white foliage in B&W is the same as the red in
the color IR.
