ABC Pyro Dev ?

I am looking at trying out the ABC Pyro developer on Kodaks HSI film,
and I was wondering if anyone has any pointers for me.

Most of the references refer to Gordon's PMK formula but as I am quite
a few chemicals short for that I was looking at using the ABC.

Is it more difficult to get consistant results from the ABC formula ( as
most
of the references suggest) ?  I have also found quite a few references
to
 Pyro Development of ordinary film but very few with regards times for
IR.

Has anyone tried ABC for IR negs or should I just buy some more
chems. and go for the PMK
