Hi everyone,

This is my maiden voyage into the world of computer photography. You all =
may have to bear with me if I make some mistakes with the way things are =
done here, also my spelling and grammar are sometimes not the best.

Here are a few of my particulars. I live near Sydney in Australia .I took=
up photography back in 1984 now have my own darkroom and have done both =
colour and black & white printing. Now it is only B&W.(colour very time =
consuming and flustrateing ).

I have three Nikon Cameras with several lens. The latest one I have is an =
F70 with an autofocus 28-80 lens.I was very interested to read that these=
lens work OK with IR film as there is no IR setting on it.

It was also interesting to read that IR film dose not record by heat but =
by light.Everything that I have read or heard says that it is recorded =
by heat?

Upon reflection I guess it would be hard to record a distant landscape =
on a small film if it was only by heat. Why is it said that it is heat tha=
t records on the film?

That book seems to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nests.Looks like =
most don't agree with the ladies techniques but like her prints. My commen=
t is.If it works why worry.

As for radiation in the fixer. This mostly occurs in the darkroom after =
one has consumed to much of it!

Look forward to reading your ideas and comments on IR film and developeme=
nt.In only a couple of days of messages I have learnt a lot that would =
probably have taken me years.
