Are you talking about sheet film? When I first began using HSI I had many
"pinholes." This was a result of dust. I now have a somewhat extended loading
procedure that pretty much eliminates this problem. I "think" that HSI somehow
attracts dust more than other films, but I certainly can't say this for sure.
One problem I did find with Konica IR in the 120 size was that "apparently in some
batches" Kodak's Indicator Stop Bath was too strong. Konica told me this when I sent
them a sample of reticulation I had experienced in the film, but added the
"apparently in some batches" to the above sentence because I have also used this stop
bath in its recommended dilution without any problems.
BYW, I always use distilled water to mix my developer (D76, Xtol, Rodinal).
