It assumes a bunch of things that should not be assumed. <g>  IMO, it is a good way
to get close to a negative that will fit the photographer's vision - usually.  As
(very probably) none of us have meters that are calibrated to read infrared
radiation, there will be a certain amount of guesswork when it comes to determining
the exposure.  Since HIE/HSI can be used and developed with such a wide range of
choices, it will take one time and experimentation to not only decide how they want
to shoot this film, but also to determine the exposure.  This is why one should do
some bracketing and take notes when starting out.  I suggest a 3 frame bracket, as
opposed to a 5 frame bracket, because I feel that the additional scenes (13 as
opposed to 8) will help with the learning process.  Yes, there will be a few scenes
that will not print exactly the way one has seen, as there is a good bit of
subjectivity in the estimation of the invisible light.
