New Bio
NAME: Bill Adams
PROFESSION/STUDY:
Currently working in website design and Quicktime VR development and pursue
photography in the fine arts arena rather than the commercial markets. I
also co- manage a website for artists marketing their work on the Internet.
COUNTRY:
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, USA. Currently reside in Lakewood,
Colorado (moving closer and closer to the mountains as our state is getting
overpopulated).
PERSONAL HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY:
Became hooked on photography in high school due to a really great teacher
back in the early 1980's. Attended the Colorado Institute of Art to pursue a
commercial photography degree where I had numerous great instructors. After
art school, I shot commercially for three years primarily specializing in
portraiture and digital imaging. I currently shoot for my own pleasure and
work in B&W, infrared, and several alternative processes.
PREFERRED SUBJECTS:
I don't really have a preferred subject but I tend to shoot a lot of
landscapes and location portraits particularly in infrared (my new passion).
MATERIALS:
Tmax, P3200, HIE, EIR, Velvia, Provia and royal gold for quicktime vr
production. I only print B&W and send color work to the lab. Alternative
processes I currently play with are platinum printing and gum bichromate.
FORMAT:
I used to shoot only medium format and 4x5 commercially but now love the 35mm
format. Currently shoot Canon EOS-1 and Leica M cameras.
OTHER HOBBIES:
Digital Imaging, Skiing, Flyfishing, Hiking, Mountain Biking.
HOW DID YOU FIND THIS LIST:
I did an Internet search on infrared photography and found a link in a really
great infrared website.
EXPAND ON ANYTHING ELSE:
I have found your newsgroup to be very educational and helpful on the subject
of infrared photography. I am planning to host a monthly photographic theme
gallery on the art-related website I co-own and would like to invite anyone
interested in showing their work on the Internet to contact me via email for
further details. The gallery will be free for all participants and should be
a lot of fun.
