HIE and Leica M

I have been using HIE for some time, and want to go into the Leica M system. However, I heard that some Leica M (M2 & M3) uses 'cloth' shutters, is this true, and will 'cloth' shutters fog HIE slightly (I am hoping for sharp/hard images)? Anyone out there with experience in this area?
