I used HIE a lot in my M2 and M4. Never a problem at all.
You may notice that there is no infrared mark on your Leica lenses.
There was none on my dual range Summicron or the 35mm Summicron. I
always thought that since Leitz does not mess around with doing things
half-way, that that must mean that those lenses were corrected for IR
also. Does anyone know whether that is true? It's a very appealing
theory, anyway.
In my opinion, there is nothing better than an M leica for IR (wish I
still had mine; I still have a IIIf and I'm sure it will work too). The
non-through the lens viewfinder is a real asset.
