Mercury Frustration :)

Flourescent lights work by discharging an electric arc through mercury
vapour ( inside every flourescent tube is a high vacuum and a small drop of
mercury).

	As a user of older cameras (Spotmatic F & Canonet QL17), this
	is what I find to be so boneheaded about the US regulations
	concerning Hg batteries. When one considers the Hg in all the
	flourescent tubes trashed daily, it seems that the ammount
	from such batteries is miniscule.  Arrrghh !!!

	just to keep this somewhat IR oriented  :)  I invite any of
	you to check out my first experiments w/ IR film. I have 4
	images at my site made with the Konica film & my old Voigt-
	lander Bessa II (6x9) out here on the Oregon Coast of the US.
	From the opening page, they are in the Voigtlander section.

	I'm eager to try this new fun film in my 35mm system & am bit
	curious how "real" the dimpled pressure plate effect is w/ the
	Kodak HIE. I have heard both ways, so if anyone has definitive
	info as to a Pentax Spotmatic F it woulsd be nice to know. I
	suspect that the Konica may be OK, but the HIE does sound much
	more intriguing  :)
