I think most glass in Japan is made by Hoya, I doubt Tokina made
their own, especially the more exotic IR stuff.

I experimented a bit with my 0.4mm thick polyester #87C variety, but
only in TTL (EOS), and having a similar filter between the filmrails
(quite tricky in hindsight, as the TTL sensor measures *reflection*
off the film surface....so the final light hitting the sensors went
through an #87C three times....8-))
The results were decent, even good considering my wild bracket range
by varying film speed from 6 ASA to 400....but it could also be that
the flash was on the limit of output, and fired a full flash each
time....:-))
Will have to repeat it one day with a all-manual flash
session....mmm....still have some HIE left from the holidays....;-))
