Your flash have to work in MANUEL mode! The ASA setting can be whatever, as
the flash delivers full power every time it is fired.
Using AUTO mode tells the flash to use the lightsensor and cut off at some
arbitrary point. Just like in"computer" or "TTL" mode.

What filter you should use is a matter of visibility vs artistry. I have used
89B and 87. When working for the police I sometimes flashed thru 2x87 (almost
invisible). It is really thrilling to burn 2 pieces of 4" original Wratten 87
AT THE SAME TIME! Dont play around with those cheap Andrew Davidhazy "thing".

Though I am not very familiar with Konica 750, I have worked a lot with HIE
and filtered flash.
