re: SONY MAVICA
Looks like there is some thought transmission in the air...
I have recently read on the list that camcorders could "see" IR. So, monday, I
tried with my handycam, and it works: I see the IR TV remote, I also see very
brightly a tungsten lamp (Halogen or not), and very poorly an fluo lamp.
So, while trying to get asleep with this exciting observation turning in my
head, I thought: if it works with handycam, it must work with the CCD of a
digital camera.
So, tuesday I brought the SONY MAVICA back from work, and tried: It also works,
but the sensibility seems lower than with the handycam.
I also tried yesterday with daylight (cloudy belgian wheather), and I could
hardly see an image.
So, I confirm it is sensitive to IR, but sensibility is very poor in daylight
(I would say < 1 ISO).
Now, the question is, are there either somme CCD which are more sensitive, or
some digital cameras which are fitted for long exposures ?
If a digicam could act as a sort of "IR polaroid" like what is used for
previsualization in conventional photographic studios, it would of course be a
dream come true for many IR-addicts...
Does any of you have other experience/idea?
Best regards,
Vincent
