On the risk of being off-topic (shoot me :)):
While in Cile last month my hotel room was robbed leaving me without a
coat, hours before travelling to patagonia so i had to buy something
fast. Later on while in the desert north this was still my only suitable
garment. After all, i gets very cold and windy there after sunset.
