If heat from my hands could fog HIE, I'd still be trying to get a roll of 35mm
or 70mm that didn't have at least the first several frames completely
blackened. Espec. with the bigger film, where I guess the increased cost
doesn't help me relax as I fumble in complete darkness, I get warm,
sweaty hands as I load the developing reels. I keep a towel close at
hand to dry hands and face.

The films are possibly more sensitive to degradation from being stored at
warm temperatures. The heat of one's hands has no effect on the film,
especially considering the short time the film is exposed to such minor
elevation in temperature during camera and developing reel loading.

For all of those with this or similar misinformation, try to stop thinking of
infrared film as having much of anything to do with temperature heat.
We're talking spectral sensitivity. The only time heat and spectrum come
close to being the same would be the red glow given off by the coils of a
space heater, toaster or other similar electrical heat-producing appliance.

This has nothing to do with the "heat" from your hands.  This will not, and
cannot, fog your film.  The fingerprints are due to the oils in your skin.
