Have a look at some of the list embers home pages for information about
how to use the film (though I am sure they will mostly be different :-)
)
As for a red or a yellow filter;
Red for B+W IR photographs, so you only record red and IR light.
Yellow for False Colour IR , so you cut out the excess blue for the full
effect
of the film. (has anyone seen what they look like without the filter?)
