Re: lith printing
Thanks all for your responses on lith printing. I would like to learn some more
about it, I'll probably check out the various recommended books.
regards

Lith printing is accomplished by exposing the print approximately by 2
stops or more and by developing the print in very dilute lith developer,
which is made by Kodak amoung others. By doing this one can get a
varity of print tones and very high contrast. But the thing is one can
have greater than +5 constast and still have very delicate high tones.
The dark tones take on an interesting pixalated effect. The process is
very versatile, however, and you can achieve many different looks. If
you're interested there are examples in Tim Rudman's book *The Master
Printing Course* and in Eddie Ephraums *Creative Darkroom Techniques*,
both of which are excellent books. Not all papers work well with the
process. For example, most vc papers don't work. Dr. Rudman recommended
that I start with Sterling Lith, although Kentmere Kentone works to,
although with different results.
