The pressure-plate dimple problem is one of the few HIE problems that  I
have not noticed when using either my 6MF or the Nikon 8008s (which has
holes rather than dimples in the pressure plate).  I am sure the dimples in
both cameras have some influence on the amount of and lateral distribution
of reflected light that illuminates the film from behind.  Since I am not
sure I know what the root cause of the dimples actually showing up in the
final neg is, I can only say I don't see the problem under the conditions
(exposure, processing, and IR reflectivity of the pressure plate) in my
case.
