RE: Brands of Infra-red film???

this hypersensitizing do to the film, is it similar to infra-red film?

Hypersenatising film is done to make it more sensitive to light. It
normally gives 1-3 stops more speed but at dramatic increase in grain size.
Their are a few solutions you can use for this method, but the one I use is
a 0.5% solution of ammonia. I use it on Kodak's LPF4 lith film so I have
never tried it on panchromatic film but it used to be quite common practice
earlier this century. It's just very difficult to get a even effect on the
film.
