- - Name: Darlene Stambaugh
- - Profession/Study: Portrait and wedding photographer
- - Country: Canada
- - Personal history of photography: Graduated from technical school
with a photography degree in 1988. Worked for two commercial
photographers until 1991, when I started a company with my then
common-law spouse Chris. We photographed primarily weddings to start
and gradually expanded into more portraiture. We are both active
members of the Professional Photographers of Canada. I serve on our
local executive, and Chris serves on our Provincial Board (Alberta). We
are both receiving our Craftsman of Photographic Arts awards this year.
- - Preferred subjects: We work mostly with people. I do mostly family
and children's portraits, and my husband does a lot of weddings, and
glamour portraits. As for personal favorite subjects, I am currently
working on a project on trains. I have also done a series of infrared
landscapes and sold a few of them.
- - Materials (film, filters, paper, chemistry): We use almost
exclusively Kodak films and papers. We do most of our own B&W work,
using the new Kodak TCN film. Paper we use Kodak Polymax RC paper. We
selenium tone most of our B&W for archival reasons.
- - Format (35mm/medium format/large format): 35mm I use a Canon F1 and
an FT. Old work horses that never quit. Medium format I use
Hasselblad.
- - Other strange hobbies: Golf - what a stupid game. The only thing
I usually end up with is a sunburn. Don't have enough free time for
many hobbies.
- - How did you find out about this list: Link from a members page.
- - In case you already have your own IR-Gallery on the web, please
state the URL/address: (I will then also add your site to the overview
of
IR-Galleries on my homepage!....think of the fame you can
get....:-)) I do have a web site. It's not an IR gallery, but does
show our work, and has one or two IR portaits there. The URL is:
<http://www.stambaugh-photo.com>
- - Expand on anything photographic you like: I am always looking for
new ideas and inspiration, and enjoy talking with others that share my
interest in photography and IR. I look forward to being a member of
this list.
