 The kind of lines you are describing are not the ones I saw in batch
#2871.  I saw horizontal fine line segments at eight frame intervals.
These were clearly caused by something parallel to the transport direction
of the film (and we now know it was in the manufacturing process).
There has been some discussion on the list on a few occasions of vertical
lines, but these were for the most part the ones you get from the sprocket
holes causing enhanced development under moderate to heavy agitation during
processing.   
Maybe a more accurate description of your lines would ring a bell with
someone. Are they + or - density, fine or wide, sharp or diffused, in
registry with the frame or the sprocket holes, and do they extend beyond
the frame edges?
