Doesn't it start out as unperforated, with the holes punched out
quite late in the process?
We just need someone to stick an arm in the machine, and reel out
some film....:-))

The only argument for backing paper might be correct tension on the
pressure plate, and more important: correct spacing. But if it can
handle semi-backed 220, it should handle unbacked 70mm as well.

Welcome to Kodak reality....:-))

I believe there are multi-format reels with adjustable
height....might be a thing of the past though, not sure where to
look. Slicing a plastic 70mm reel and removing 1-2mm's might be a solution
too. Saw one a few months ago, but of course I didn't know what to do
with it at that time....8-))

I would be interested in both sliced-down 60mm as well as a few
intact 70mm cartridges.
Can't remember having seen prices for 70mm EIR (and there were two
emulsions, differing in altitude application I believe)....is it much
more expensive than 70mm HIE? I would be willing to buy a total of
US$100 or so.
220-long rolls seems the best solution, I can then even use the
dip&dunk system at my pro lab....
[it really annoys me that they can't do the full 70mm length, as
their XTOL service works perfect with HIE]
