Young man in the middle of quandary

Hi! :)
I'm a young 20yr old boy, who doesn't have much money to spare *who does?*
and can't afford to make a single mistake ;) cuz I'm about to embark on
the buying of my first camera and lens. All this while I'm been using my
brothers Nikon F601 with the 28-70mm f3.5-4.5 and the 70-210mm f4-5.6 these
past 4 years. My needs and abilities have progressed beyond the
capabilities of this particular body. I esp. cannot stand it's slow AF
speed and it's clumsy handling anymore which is inadequate for my
particular fave. style which is street photography.
I recently had a chance to test out the Canon EOS 5 and the 28-105mm
f3.5-4.5. I must say I am very impressed with the speed of the AF, the
handling of the camera and also the quality of it's lenses *or at least
that particular lens which is VERY suited to doing street photography*
I love Canon's 'crisp' contrasty look but I'm still in love with Nikon
lenses and the fact that they have INCREDIBLE colour saturation.
So what I meant to ask is if anyone knows if there's any brand of camera
that marries Canon's contrast with Nikons saturation? I appeal to this
group as it seems that there are several in here that have been shooting
for a long time.
I was recommeded by someone to check out Carl Zeiss & Contax. I've seen
prints shot with Zeiss lenses and I happen to think they are amazing. If I
do get any system of the 3 I mentioned here *with Nikon being cheapest* I
won't be able to pull out unless I become a VERY successful photographer
:p . So I hope you can appreciate the fact I need to get things right the
first time around. In case your wondering yes I have the cash to start a
Zeiss system to, but I'll be pretty broke after that, so I won't be able to
afford changing systems after that. Once I buy into a system I'm pretty
much sticking to it
While we're still on Zeiss, has anybody here used their AF body the Contax
AX? is it good? Is the AF as fast/reliable as say Nikon or Canon. AF is a
major consideration for me as anybody who's done street photography can
tell you. Though I do intend to do photography as a career, I'm studying
and making arrangments to go to Brooks :) So I would appreciate getting
good glass like Zeiss if the AF is ok *this was for those ppl who'd say,
you don't need Zeiss as a casual shooter, I don't intend to stay casual
guys ;)*
Ok so the main point is do I go for, Nikon F90X with the 28-70 f2.8 (can't
afford nikons 80-200 f2.8 just yet ): ) *before I used the EOS 5 this was
my one and only consideration*
The Canon EOS 5 with the 28-105 f3.5-4.5.
Or the ? Contax AX with ? lens?*I dunno anything at all about Contax or
Zeiss so if anyone can recommend anything in the way of a lens esp. I'd be
mighty interested* let's say in the case of Zeiss money is no object if I
do decide to buy Zeiss I'll borrow cash from my brothers & parents if I
need to to get started. So base your recommendations with that in mind.
I once considered getting the Contax G2 but lets face it, you NEED zooms in
street photography to max. out your effectiveness, and the G2 has a limited
lens line up that just won't do for me
*pant pant pant* Gosh I just realized how much I wrote! :P I hope I didn't
bore you folks :)
If anyone feels interested in replying please do so :) cuz I need all the
help I can get :)
God Bless
Yours truly,
Ket
